Day 1: Song of My Breath

"...then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature." (Genesis 2:7 ESV) BreatheDay1

He planned. He created. He breathed out.

...out of Himself and into us.

He breathed out life. ...not breath, not air, not wind... but life.

What is life? True life? This thing that holds our frail beings in the present. That keeps our hearts beating day in and day out. That fills our minds with the ability to reason, to create, to dream, to love, and to choose. That gives our fragile minds a reason to go on breathing in and out and in and out until that day when, by force or choice that breath stops coming and the heart stops pumping. What is it?

Maybe we don't know except to say that it is from Him and by Him and for His glory. He breathed it into us and He holds each of my frail breaths in His hand.

Life. My life. Your life. Life is breathed into the dust of our bodies by the never-ending life Himself.

You and I have been and are being breathed into by that Source. Do I live like it? Do I live like my every breath is given and held and sustained by an eternal, all-powerful God?

Whether I see it or not, each breath on my lips tells His might, and each breath is a song of His glory for the world to see. Do I see it? Do I see the worship of each breath erupt out of my chest each time I breathe in and out?

Sisters, I'm praying that my heart will align with the worship and glory that is continually bursting from my lips already. The dust of my body is shouting His praise, and most days, I don't even notice.

The song of my breath is His glory, His power, and should be His worship.
