Because it's not about the breathing.Because we'll never be perfectly purposeful. Because absolute faithfulness is never possible. Because life isn't supposed to be balanced anyway.
It's not about the breathing... It's about who your breathing in of and who you're breathing out for. It's not about being perfectly purposeful.... It's about living what you say you believe instead of living a lie. It's not about absolute faithfulness... It's about becoming more like Him day by day. It's not about a balanced life... It's about your whole life being radically weighted toward Jesus.
It's about loving Him above all others, because He deserves to be our first love. It's about positioning yourself under the flow of His grace, because He has told us that He blesses those who obey. It's about loving Him because He first loved us.
Because He said... "Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21
Because we can claim His name and associate ourselves with His people, but our lives will show our hearts. And only you know your heart, sister. Only you and Him.
I remember many times of hearing words like the ones written above and having fear and anxiety instantly pierce my heart. What if I am not saved? What if I don't love God? What if I'm not doing enough? What if I don't really love Him?
And those fears, they are not from God! Because He has declared... "My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." John 10:29
No one can snatch us out of the Father's hand. So those fears, I can't listen to them. You can't listen to them. But the truths behind the fears? I must listen to those. I must listen hard and careful and allow the Spirit to evaluate my heart.
I must sincerely ask... "Are my actions and my words preaching the same message?" "Does how I live show the world that Jesus is the most important part of my life?" "Am I willing to change my actions to love Jesus more?" "Is my heart soft to obey His commands?" "Am I actively, purposefully laying down my will to do His will?"
And sisters...the answer is always no. There will always be some area to grow in. If our hearts are soft to the Spirit's teaching, there will always be some area we are failing. And that is okay.
It's okay because our sin is covered by His grace. It's okay because that is an opportunity for us to repent It's okay because in our weakness, He will be glorified. It's okay because in seeing our failures, we are able to change and grow by His grace.
So let's stop excusing our sin just because Satan tries to trap us in condemnation. Let's learn to run to Jesus for grace and then let's grow and change from the grace He has given. Let's allow our hearts to be contrite, not condemned. And let's seek to do the will of the Father...to love and obey Him with our actions, not just our words.
Sisters, have you felt this condemnation? Have you, like me, ran from growth, because of the shame of condemnation from Satan? Will you join me in seeking to ignor the lies of Satan and yet still obey the correction of our Holy God?
Be blessed <3
