I’m mostly done with writing about a million other posts, but for one reason or another it’s not time to publish any of them yet. And I’m writing words but they aren’t what I want to say today. And I keep asking myself, “What do I want to say?"
And this is it... I want to remind you that the weekend won’t make life better, Jesus will.
I want to challenge you to love deeply and fully and freely this weekend, but to warn you that won’t happen unless you first realize how deeply and fully and freely you’ve been loved.
I want to encourage you to rest in Jesus first this weekend, because He is the only place where you can find true rest.
I want to remind you that it is a privilege to participate in the body of Christ and encourage you to take advantage of that with joy this weekend.
I want to tell you that being in HIs presence is the only thing that will satisfy.
I want to warn you that there will be the good and the bad and the messy and the happy and all the things this weekend, but in the midst of it all, He is good.
I want to shout to you that He is good and He is peace and He is life and even when I’m not feeling that I must hold to it as true.
I want to remind you that if you’re living for the weekend, you’ll be disappointed, but if you live for Jesus you’ll be full and satisfied.
I want to tell you these things because I need to hear them and believe them and live them this weekend.
Let’s remember that the weekend won’t make life better, Jesus will. Let’s remember that being in His presence is the only thing that will satisfy. Let’s remember that we don’t need a break from life, we need the Giver of Life.
And when He does give us the breaks, the rests, the weekends, the joys, let’s remember that they are grace gifts from Him. He is the Author of joy and Giver of Life, so let's rejoice in Him.
So let’s enjoy the weekend as a gift, but remember the One who gave it and find our true rest in Him.
Be blessed <3
